Grannies On The Road

RVing across America. One small town, beach, park, mountain, flea market, BBQ joint, soda shop, junk shop and diner, at a time.

RV Road Trip Rookies

Well, we finally went off on our “shake down trip”. It was just a few miles from home. A very NICE campground called Willow Tree. Of course I didn’t know what I was doing, after all, I had learned everything on You Tube. She didn’t come with any manuals at all. Zilch!

I managed to get everything hooked up, but I made one BIG mistake. I turned on the park’s water full blast. Immediately, busted a water line under the kitchen sink. NO WATER all weekend. (It never occurred to me that you could use potable water and the water pump). “DA”!

Next problem: were the ANTS, millions of them. They were everywhere. I sprayed so much bug spray; we had to evacuate. Just when I thought I had killed or squished them all, here comes another one. I had to throw out a perfectly good jar of peanut butter. Some how the little boogers had gotten into the jar. Boy, that broke my heart. I HATE throwing away food.

Notice the photos. We looked like hillbillies compared to our neighbors. “NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT”.

Anyway, we managed to have a good time. The campground had a wonderful lake for swimming. In my case, just floating around on a raft.

Well, hope you enjoyed my story. Be sure and follow me, for more “exciting” tales from the road.
